As part of Toho’s Mid-Term 2028 plans, the studio revealed a number of exciting projects to come, with one being that a new Godzilla game could be in the works. Looking to expand the success of the Godzilla franchise following the release of Godzilla Minus One, the company has said they will be allocating 15 billion yen to the IP.
This expansion will focus on events, merchandise, stores, a sequel to Minus One from director Takashi Yamazaki and console games. Bloomberg also reported that the upcoming movie will be a direct sequel to Godzilla Minus One but this information was not confirmed within the Mid-Term 2028 plan documentation.
