Shin-Chan Live Action Adverts Cast Kamen Rider Zero-One as Adult Shin-Chan

The popular Crayon Shin-Chan franchise has paired with Coca-Cola to advertise their Barley Tea line, Yakan no Mugicha. As part of this campaign a series of adverts have released that star older versions of Shin-Chan characters, with Kamen Rider Zero-One lead Fumiya Takahashi taking on the role of a 25 year old Shin-Chan.

Releasing on the 9th of April, three short episodes of the advertisement campaign released with actors Taizo Harada and Kumiko Aso taking on the roles of Hiroshi Nohara and Misae Nohara, Shin-Chan’s parents. Kumiko Aso may be recognisable to some in the west as she played the role of Michi Kudo in the popular 2001 Kiyoshi Kurosawa movie, Pulse.

The short episodes released so far focus on individual characters going about their day. Shin-Chan works as a staff member for a Kamen Rider inspired hero show in his short while in Hiroshi’s episode he’s taking a break from work. In the third episode we see Misae organising at home and through a text conversation we see that each of the stories is taking place concurrently.

The fourth and fifth episodes are yet to be revealed but there is potential that these focus on Shin-Chan’s sister Himawari or the family dog, Shiro. These episodes will release on the 21st of April and hopefully see more interesting casting reveals.
