Original Gorenger Cast Appear at 50th Anniversary Event to Unveil New Sentai Exhibition

The Himitsu Sentai Gorenger 50th Anniversary Secret Premium Event was held on the 5th of April and revealed that a Sentai exhibition event will be hosted across Japan. The coming exhibition will span the entire 50-year history of the Super Sentai franchise, stretching from Himitsu Sentai Gorenger to 2025’s No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger. Beginning in August at the Tokyo Dome City Prism Hall, the show will then tour across Japan for Sentai fans to attend.

After a screening of the fourth Gorenger movie, Himitsu Sentai Gorenger: The Bomb Hurricane, actors from the original Gorenger series took to the stage. Naoya Makoto (76), Hiroshi Miyauchi (77), Jiro Daruma (73), Lisa Komaki (74), and Yukio Itou (69) discussed their work on the series and introduced a trailer for the coming exhibition.

The trailer features the Gorengers walking as the sound of children shouting “Gorenger!” is heard. The team turn as Naoya Makoto says “thank you” to the fans. An image featuring the Gorenger team standing before a sea of future Super Sentai members was also released, celebrating Gorenger’s initial first steps into what would become a 50-year-long franchise with over 200 Sentai heroes.

Alongside the touring exhibition, Gorenger fans in Japan will also be able to get hold of a new Blu-Ray release of the series. Coming out on the 11th of June, the set will include the full 84 episode series across five volumes and all five Gorenger movies will be included in standard definition formats.
