A new trailer for Science SARU’s upcoming Ghost in the Shell anime adaptation has been released alongside a new poster and staffing reveals. The series will be a new adaptation of the popular manga series that seeks to be more faithful to the original. The feature adaptation became famous for being a cyberpunk styled exploration of philosophical identity, making waves in western markets in the 90s and helping boost anime to the height it’s at today.
Science SARU recently worked on the popular Netflix series Dandadan and the 2024 feature The Colors Within. The series will function as the directing debut for Mokochan, who previously worked as an assistant director under industry great Masaaki Yuasa. Writing for the series will be helmed by sci-fi award winning author Toh EnJoe, who would best be known for his 2007 novel Self-Reference ENGINE.
