Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Kamen Rider Anime Adaptation in the Works
Manga series Tanzaburo Tojima Wants To Be A Kamen Rider has been
confirmed to be getting an anime adaption.
The trademark first
appeared at the end of February but was not officially confirmed
until now after Aniplex revealed the series is in development with a teaser trailer. Fans
of the series will have to wait until March 23rd to hear
more about the project when Aniplex will be revealing the cast and
other information for the series at the AnimeJapan 2025 event.
The series follow
Tanzaburo Tojima, a huge fan of Kamen Rider in his 40s who one day
throws on a plastic Kamen Rider mask to try and take down a group of
criminals robbing a convenience store. Expecting to be a hero, the
internet instead laughs at Tanzaburo but that doesn’t deter him as
he takes to the streets as a vigilante.
The manga series is
still ongoing, having started in 2018 as part of the Monthly Hero’s
magazine before shifting to the Comiplex website. Creator Yokusaru
Shibata is best known for their previous works Air Master and
81diver. Air Master received an anime adaptation in 2003 while
81diver had a live action series in 2008.
The coming series is
likely to be streaming via Disney+ on release in the UK.
