New Godzilla DLC Hinted at by GigaBash Founder Outside of Toho Offices

The founder of Passion Republic Games has teased some possible Godzilla news as he posted a photo of a GigaBash starring Kaiju (in plushie form) outside of the Toho office.

President of Passion Republic Games, Aik Sern Ng, took to twitter to post a photo of their GigaBash starring Kaiju, Woolley, in front of the Shin Godzilla statue placed right outside the Toho entrance. Captioning the post “What is Woolley doing at Godzilla_Toho?” And tagging the post with “#Godzilla” and “#WhatsNext”, the tweet teased that Godzilla news could be coming from the developer soon.

The Kaiju multiplayer party brawler saw a Godzilla DLC pack released in December of last year that added Godzilla, Gigan, Mechagodzilla and Destroyah to the roster of city destroying beasts. While these notable Godzilla Kaiju have made it into the title, fan favourites like Mothra and King Ghidora are nowhere to be seen, though this could largely be down to those Kaiju primarily being a flying type.

This could be hinting at a possible Godzilla title from the studio but it seems more likely that this is teasing another DLC comprised of Godzilla Kaiju, either in the form of unique characters or as skins for currently existing ones. The appearance of the Malaysian based studio founder in Japan cannot be taken as confirmation that any news is explicitly coming as GigaBash has been showing at Tokyo Game Show this week but the “WhatsNext” hashtag does seem to be pointing to something on the horizon.

Godzilla, Gigan, Mechagodzilla and Destroyah all appeared in the GigaBash DLC

The announcement of the first Godzilla DLC pack came on Godzilla day, November 3rd in 2022 with the release of the pack coming later that same year on December 9th. With Godzilla day fast approaching it seems likely that any news from the developer will be held until then.

GigaBash is a four player party brawler in the vein popular Dreamcast title Power Stone and allows for both online and split screen PVP. Though the four previously mentioned Godzilla characters are the only licensed material in the game, the base cast features ten playable Kaiju with many being stand ins for popular Tokusatsu characters like Ultraman and King Kong.

Kaiju fans looking to purchase GigaBash can do so digitally on all major platforms with the game currently on sale at 20% off on Steam until the 28th of September.

Godzilla, Mothra and Ghidora costumes can be purchased in Fall Guys until the 28th

Godzilla content can also be found over in Fall Guys this week as the Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Mothra costumes have returned to the digital store until the 28th. Toho Games have also developed Godzilla titles for Anroid and iOS with Run Godzilla and Godzilla Battle Line both being available via their respective store fronts.

Godzilla will be making a return to the big screen later this year with the release of Godzilla Minus One on November 3rd in Japan and December 1st in America. There is currently no confirmation of a UK release date for the movie.
